Powerex Corp. has a full-time temporary opportunity for a creative and technically savvy individual to join our team as a Graphic and Presentation Design Specialist. We are an entrepreneurial focused, fast-paced physical energy marketing and trading organization located in downtown Vancouver, BC.

Reporting to the Director – Front Office Analytics, you are a detailed oriented, conceptual thinker, who recognizes the importance of strong teamwork, communication, and stakeholder management. The Graphic Designer will work with Front Office management, traders and marketers, collecting requirements both verbally and in writing to create content that is compelling and speaks to our audiences. The successful candidate will have a strong eye for design and visual storytelling, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work under pressure. They will bring fresh visual ideas to Powerex’s portfolio.

Core Responsibilities

• Create high-quality original graphic content such as diagrams, maps, and infographics for use in presentations, reports, and marketing material. Distill complex concepts into visually engaging and compelling diagrams
• Create PowerPoint presentations used to communicate Powerex’s message to a variety of audiences including, Board members, customers, and industry groups. Maintain a library of reusable high-quality PowerPoint slides and presentations
• Work with Powerex’s marketing team to create material that speaks to both existing and potential customers through a combination of print/pdf, web, and video/animation
• Work with and expand Powerex’s visual style and brand guidelines
• Coordinate the acquisition and management of external resources when needed for specific projects
• Embrace feedback from, and work with a variety of different stakeholders involved with different aspects of Powerex’s business while ensuring the timely delivery of assignments.

Skills and Experience

• 2-5 years of experience in a fast-paced environment (in-house or agency) developing graphic content and presentations while dealing directly with clients/end users
• Demonstrated experience using data and a variety of technical skills to bring complex concepts to life visually in ways that are not only beautiful but impactful. Candidates selected for an interview should have a portfolio of work prepared to showcase their work.
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Digital Art, Communications or Computer Science
• Well-organized and able to work consistently on recurring project, both independently and with others
• Highly skilled with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator) or equivalent and Microsoft Office (PowerPoint)
• Experience with Web Design (HTML/CSS/Javascript) and Data Visualization tools and techniques (e.g. Tableau or similar) would be considered an asset.
• Strong conceptual thinker with excellent written and oral communication (fluent English) skills
