Powerex Corp., an energy marketer in a dynamic industry, currently has a Full-Time Permanent position for a Reporting Analyst to join our Finance team. We are looking for an individual who can translate large granular datasets into insightful business concepts. The successful candidate, as part of the Management Reporting & Planning team, will be a critical thinker that can provide value by being pro-active in providing valuable reporting solutions to various groups, while maintaining accurate and timely output for existing reports.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the accurate and timely completion of reports for both internal and external stakeholders
  • Responsible for being a subject matter expert (SME) for designated reports and processes
  • Investigate reporting based questions from various groups within Powerex and provide clear and concise answers
  • Support and coach Junior Reporting Analyst by providing insight into core business functions and reporting workflows
  • Transform data into insightful reporting information (ability to tell the story) with limited guidance
  • Create dashboard visualizations for reporting and ad hoc requests
  • Assist Senior Reporting Analyst with project based work
  • Provide scenario analysis and proposed workflows for changes to existing processes
  • Document requirements and summarize information related to internal operational and business processes
  • Understand reporting objectives and deliver insights and commentary that can inform and shape product design and development and business decision making.
  • Collect, analyze and synthesize incomplete information from disparate sources into a clear and compelling story
What you need
  • 2-3 years’ experience in data analytics and report management
  • Completion of college or post-secondary diploma/degree in the field of Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Economics, Engineering or related field
  • Advanced user of Excel
  • Proficient in Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau
  • Proven experience consolidating and analyzing data sources to create insightful business intelligence
  • Excellent problem solving, critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail, superior organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to support team members and take direction from senior team members and management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated sense of curiosity and ability to ask the right questions
  • Knowledge of SQL or Python for data analysis would be considered an asset
