Powerex is seeking a new Director of People & Culture to join the executive leadership team and shape the future of their people strategy. Reporting to the CEO, this role will lead initiatives in talent acquisition, succession planning, compensation, organizational design, and culture. With 240 employees spanning trading, technology, finance, legal, and risk management, Powerex’s success depends on its people—and this role will be central to attracting, developing, and retaining top talent.

The successful candidate is a strategic HR generalist with experience in complex, fast-paced industries such as commodity trading, investment banking, or technology. They bring both strategic acumen and a builder mentality, capable of scaling a lean HR function while navigating the governance frameworks of a quasi-government environment. Confident, collaborative, and values-driven, they will protect and strengthen Powerex’s entrepreneurial culture while positioning the company as a top employer in the energy sector.

COMPENSATION

Salary range for this role is $190,000 - $250,000/annum. LOCATION

Powerex is in downtown Vancouver on major transit routes (near both Skytrain and Seabus).
