Rotational Analyst Program
The Powerex Rotational Analyst Program was created to provide an opportunity for exceptional new university graduates to enter the fast paced energy trading industry. The program affords individuals a structured way to learn from the ground up how the energy trading and marketing sector operates, and how every team across the company plays a part in Powerex's success. As a Rotational Analyst you will join a program that focuses on the technical and analytical components of the work, and provides an interesting, dynamic, and team-oriented experience. Professional development and one-on-one mentoring are key components of the program that facilitate your growth. You will be encouraged to be inquisitive, and to own your learning experience to maximize career advancement.

The experience I gained through each one of my rotations allowed me to better understand some of the intricacies that exist in the dynamic and unique industry in which Powerex operates in. As someone fresh off graduation, this experience was invaluable. As a Rotational Analyst, I am gaining a great understanding of the Energy industry. From completing a variety of daily tasks such as energy and transmission checkouts with counterparties and publishing the daily profit and loss statements, to leading a major project, my role has provided exposure to the inner-workings of the business. I’ve felt fully integrated with my teams from day one and I am encouraged to continually challenge myself. At Powerex I’ve had the opportunity to learn a multitude of invaluable knowledge from experts in the field, and have enjoyed getting to know my coworkers across different areas of the company. Powerex has a fun, friendly, and collaborative work culture and it has been a privilege to work for an organization which is bigger than myself.
Since joining Powerex as a Rotational Analyst, I have completed rotations in the Management, Reporting and Planning and Credit Risk team, and am now training for my first front-office rotation with the Daily Optimization group. Inherent to Powerex is a culture of learning and sharing knowledge. I have found it extremely rewarding to be a part of the team and to have the opportunity to learn from talented experts in the field. I also really enjoy the fast-paced, exciting, and often complex nature of work as well as the vibrant, fun-natured environment.
