Powerex is an active participant in many of the major market design, policy, regulatory and legal developments that are being discussed in the energy industry today. The Market Policy group is a multidisciplinary team that monitors these emerging energy trends, engages in advocacy to influence market design and coordinates Powerex’s policy strategies.
Responsible for the group that assesses physical transmission problems for Powerex, specifically identifying and evaluating limits that could restrict Powerex’s ability to buy and sell electricity in the Pacific Northwest and Alberta. In addition, involved as a Powerex contact collaborating with BC Hydro Operators and Planners as well as counterparts from across the WECC on a variety of projects relating to transmission issues and system operations.
Monitors, evaluates and advises on the numerous policy issues relevant to Powerex’s energy trading activities.
